If you have a honey bee swarm (see example pictures of swarms below) that shows up on your property and you live in northern Virginia, TT's Bees encourages you not to be frightened (honey bees are non-aggressive if not disturbed) and not to spray them with insecticides. Instead, feel free to contact TT's Bees at cell (208) 371-1811 and talk with us about how to handle the problem correctly. We are delighted when folks call us to ask us to remove honey bees as we know that we can safely capture them without harming them and then relocate them to a home where they can live and thrive. If we find we can not remove the bees, we will be able to put you in touch with someone who can. It is a win/win situation for you that ensures you get the help you seek. These insects are directly responsible for ensuring about 30 percent of the food we eat gets the pollination needed to produce in abundance, ensuring our nutrition continues, so we all need to do everything possible to protect them. We encourage everyone to become bee-friendly, and to please support your local beekeepers.

TT's Bees enjoys sharing information about honey bees and about beekeeping. If you are having an event and would like to have someone talk about honey bees, feel free to contact us as we have spoken at numerous events, including corporate events and Girl Scout camp events. Our daughters, former Girl Scouts, love to share their knowledge with other youth, so don't be surprised if one of them is selected to speak at your event.
If you are looking for something to do with a few or a bunch of your friends, consider contacting TT's Bees to set up a honey tasting and apiary tour event. We extract our honey several different times throughout the nectar flow, giving us the ability to get 6 - 9 uniquely flavored honeys during the short 3 - 4 month honey season. Our honey begins very light yellow in color and works its way throught the summer to become a dark amber color. Each color brings with it a unique flavor, guaranteeing everyone in your party will find at least one that is his or her personal favorite. Yes, since the bees gather nectar from different sources, and since the plants in our area bloom at different times, the bees produce a variety of different honey flavors, allowing us to follow the various different nectar flows to make the most out of honey production. Immediately below is a picture of a lovely group that visited us this past fall. Give us a try; we are positive you won't regret it!

Five different honeys which were extracted on 5/23/23, 6/7/23, 6/11/23, 6/24/23, and 7/16/23 (left to right, respectively). Note: though the dark amber one on the right might look like it would be something too strong to enjoy, it is actually the highly sought after Wildflower honey, one of our most popular ones.
